Additional security for trade vans, and other vehicles

Good afternoon,

You are receiving this email because you have shown that vehicle crime is important to you.  If you find the content of this email useful, please let us know by rating the email below.

As well as taking steps to mark and register your property to help increase the chances of it being returned to you if, you are unfortunate enough to be a victim of crime.  There are other methods to secure your van / deter opportunistic thieves:

  • Make use of an audible alarm, by drawing attention to a crime at the time when it is occurring, it is likely to deter those committing the crime and cause them to leave before they have stolen the contents of a van.  This allows you to call 999 at the time of the incident, it increases our opportunity to locate the suspects and hold them accountable, and hopefully keeps any loss of tools to a minimum.
  • If you do have cause to call 999 for an incident in progress, please try to include as much information as possible: Registrations of vehicles, any significant marks / stickers /damage to the vehicle, description of the suspect etc, and importantly, the direction in which they travel in.
  • Can you add other locks to your van, other locks are unlikely to be anticipated and make it harder to gain entry, hopefully it will deter offenders away completely.
  • Making use of home cctv to capture any incidents.
  •

If you have any specific queries, please do not hesitate to make contact.

    Kind Regards

    Annette
