Appeal for witnesses and information following road-related incident in Hamble

Officers are appealing for witnesses and information following a report of a road-related incident on Hamble Lane on Monday evening (17 March).

During the incident, a member of the public informed officers of a stationary vehicle – a blue VW Golf - further along Hamble Lane, leading to a build-up of traffic.

Officers responded to the report, locating the vehicle in question and subsequently arresting a 19-year-old man from Hamble on suspicion of driving a vehicle whilst unfit through drugs.

He has since been released under investigation, pending further enquiries.

We would like to hear from anyone with any information about the incident, including anyone with any footage, such as dash cam, mobile phone or any other CCTV, particularly between the times of 7.30pm and 8pm.

We’d also like to hear from the member of the public who first made our officers aware of the incident, or anyone else who recalls seeing the vehicle described above, either when it was stationary, or prior to it becoming stationary.

If you have information which may assist us in our investigation, please call 101 and quote incident number 44250117699.
