A 35-year-old man from New Milton has this afternoon (Tuesday 1 April) been arrested on suspicion of five shopliftings.

The man, who was arrested in Ashley shortly after midday, remains in police custody at this time.

The arrest follows reported thefts from stores in New Milton and Totton between Friday 14 February and Wednesday 12 March.
