Following an recent spate of theft from motor vehicles in the Fareham area, I am writing to you to asking for your support in this matter.

Not only is theft and vehicle crime a district priority to us in Fareham, but we also recognise how these types of crime can effect victims, insurance premiums increase, emotional distress and also the sheer inconvenience with disruption to daily routines and time to report the crime.

The majority of the vehicles targeted where so because they were left unlocked and insecure. We can investigate these reports and proactively patrol, however we are asking for yourselves to remain vigilant.

You can do this by ensuring your vehicles are locked and secured, valuables removed out of sight or from the vehicle completely, and consider parking your vehicles in a well-lit area, making use of driveways and garages if possible.

Think about including your car in your pre-bedtime house security checks. Check the car is locked before locking that front and back door. It might just make all the difference and reduce the risk of you becoming a victim of crime.
