Two men arrested after officers find suspected Class A drugs in Basingstoke


Two men have been arrested on suspicion of drugs offences in Basingstoke.

Officers were on patrol when they spotted suspicious behaviour linked to a Peugeot car which had turned onto Titchbourne Close at around 12.30pm on Sunday 29 June.

The driver exited the vehicle and attempted to flee the scene by jumping over a fence.

A short while later, officers located the driver and arrested him on Hounsome Drive. The car was searched, and two sets of number plates were located and seized.

Suspected Class A drugs were also located following a search. 

A 41-year-old man from Basingstoke was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a Class A drug.

Officers then attended an address on Maize Lane and located suspected Class A drugs.

A 42-year-old man from Basingstoke was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a Class A drug.

Both men have been bailed with conditions, pending further enquiries.
