🚔 Operation Sidlaw - Tackling Vehicle ASB Across the East Wight 🚔 📣 You Said, We Did

Tonight, officers from the East Wight Neighbourhood Team carried out Operation Sidlaw patrols across the East Wight, with officers covering Ryde, Sandown, Shanklin, Ventnor and surrounding rural locations.

The operation focused on tackling vehicle related antisocial behaviour (ASB), excessive vehicle noise, and other concerns raised by local residents.

During the operation, officers engaged with motorists and conducted patrols in a number of identified hotspot locations. As a result, enforcement action was taken against several vehicles found to be in breach of the Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations 1986, including vehicles with non compliant and excessively noisy exhaust systems with no Type approval Certificate.

You said that vehicle ASB, excessive noise, and irresponsible driving were impacting your communities.

We did carry out targeted patrols across Ryde, Sandown, Shanklin, Ventnor and rural areas of the East Wight, taking positive action against those found to be breaching road traffic legislation and causing nuisance within our communities.
