05/11/2026 11pm - Theft of Motor Vehicle @ Drayton Street, Stanmore

Good morning Winchester South residents,

I am currently investigating a vehicle theft on Drayton Street, Stanmore, which occurred between 11:00pm and 12:00am on Thursday 5 November 2026.

During this timeframe, a medium-sized white panel van was stolen from its on-street parking space near the junction of Drayton Street and Battery Hill. Broken glass was left at the scene, indicating that entry was likely gained by smashing a vehicle window.

We are confident that the theft took place during this one-hour period and that the vehicle subsequently travelled through Winchester before leaving the city in the early hours of the morning. Unfortunately, its current whereabouts remain unknown.

I am appealing to local residents who may have seen or heard anything that could be connected to this incident. Did you notice anyone acting suspiciously? Did you hear breaking glass or see any unusual vehicle movements in the area at that time?

For those living further afield, particularly owners of similar vehicles, did you notice any suspicious activity or individuals in the days leading up to this theft with your own vehicles?

If you believe you may be able to assist the investigation, whether through CCTV, doorbell footage, dashcam footage, or as a witness, please contact me via email at william.andrews@hampshire.police.uk or contact Hampshire Constabulary on 101, quoting reference 44260543915.

Please also take this opportunity as a reminder to ensure vehicles are locked overnight and that no valuables or tools are left inside unattended where possible.

Please share this message with others in the nearby area, and forward me their details if they would like to sign up to the alert service.

Thank you for your assistance.
